
On April 20, 2025, the city of Bengaluru was shaken by the tragic murder of former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash. The 68-year-old retired IPS officer, a 1981 batch graduate, was found dead at his residence in HSR Layout. According to India TV News, Om Prakash’s body was discovered with multiple stab wounds, raising suspicions of foul play. Preliminary reports suggest that his wife, Pallavi, is the prime suspect in the case. Police sources revealed that Pallavi had alerted authorities about the incident but later refused to cooperate when they arrived at the scene.
Witnesses and neighbors reported hearing arguments from the residence earlier in the day. A senior police official stated, “We are thoroughly investigating all angles, including domestic disputes, to uncover the truth behind this heinous act.”
Om Prakash, who hailed from Champaran, Bihar, had an illustrious career in law enforcement, serving as Karnataka’s DGP from 2015 to 2017. His untimely death has cast a shadow over his legacy, leaving colleagues and friends mourning the loss of a respected officer.
