Andrew Garfield Teases Spider-Man Return: ‘It Would Have to Be Very Weird’

It’s been a while since “Spider-Man: No Way Home” was released. But for the fans of the movie, the surprise packed in the film still feels fresh in their minds. Along with the screams and chaos that ensued when people found out about it in theatres.

Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, who played Spider-Man in the older movies of the Spider-Man franchise, surprised the fans by playing a cameo in Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, the third installment in the series.

Andrew Garfield At The Possibility Of Playing Spider-Man Again

At the Middle East Film & Comic Con event, held recently in Abu Dhabi, when asked about his possible return to the film, Andrew had a quirky request disguised in his answer.

Recalling the Spider-Verse movies, Andrew said he’d like to do something very strange and very weird, something very unique and offbeat and surprising, but for that, they’d need creative freedom, like they have with the animated movie.

While his film, “Spider-Man 2”, didn’t perform well at the time of its release, Andrew’s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home solidified the fact that he’s still loved by the fans and they’d love to see him back in his Spidey suit.

This news couldn’t have arrived at a better moment with a new Spider-Man ready to release next summer. Will Andrew reprise his role and make an appearance? That’s still unknown, but we guess, never say never.

Following his interview in January, in which he said, no one’s going to trust anything he says, given the secrecy that surrounded during the No Way Home release/ shooting period, it’s safe to say, we’re not trusting anything the actor says.

Who knows, one of these days, maybe he’ll be given the creative freedom he so desperately wishes for and return as our Amazing Spider-Man, be it in his own movie sequel or in Tom’s upcoming film.
