The 2025 Thriller Drama film, “Thudarum, is all set to take the theatres by the storm. With an 8.5/10 rating on IMDb, and the ever rising pre-booking earnings, this Malayalam film will be releasing on 25th April 2025 in India. The run time is two hour forty three minutes.

Directed by Tharun Moorthy, and M. Renjith as the producer, “Thudarum” marks the 360th film of actor Mohanlal, who’ll be seen as a taxi driver, Shanmughan.

Along with him, the film also stars Shobana, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, Krishna Praba, Prakash Varma, and Aravind.

The principal photography of “Thudarum” began in April 2024 and concluded in November.

What’s the Movie About?

Now, coming to the movie, in the calm and quiet hill town of Ranni, Shanmughan treasures one thing the most, his old-but-gold Ambassador car. He’s never gone to school and appears to be happy with his family but that’s not all to him.

From the trailer, we can assume he’s burdened by a past that makes life difficult for the normal car driver. And when he finds himself in the middle of a complex investigation, he must show how far he’ll go for his loved ones, even when it’s dangerous.

This Dhrishyam-meets-Lucifer film leaves the audience in suspense and hooked to the family drama. Adding to the charm of this film is the 90s chemistry we see between Shobana and Mohanlal.

It’s not merely a regular thriller film, and viewers can expect deeper psychological themes, hidden truths, and complex plot from “Thudarum.”

The troubled protagonist played by Mohanlal will leave you wanting for more. With the intriguing premise and the mysterious figure, played by Shobana adding to the mix, Thudarum is a must watch for sure.
