
Dubai —In a vibrant display of community spirit and civic engagement, more than 1,200 residents gathered at the playgrounds of His Highness Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum Pakistani School to attend the Al Qusais Community Forum.
The landmark event was hosted by Dubai Police’s Positive Spirit Council and marked a significant moment of unity and outreach.
The forum was organized in collaboration with Al Qusais Police Station, the General Department of Human Rights, and the “Your Neighbourhood Police” initiative. A number of government and private sector partners also contributed to the success of the event.
Fatima Bohjair, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council, emphasized that the initiative aligns with Dubai Police’s strategic goals. These include enhancing public happiness, strengthening social cohesion, and improving quality of life across neighborhoods.
“This is not just about safety — it’s about building trust, connection, and a shared sense of belonging,” she said, highlighting the emotional and civic impact of such community-driven programs.
Awareness, Education, and Empowerment
The program featured a series of interactive lectures and safety briefings led by key officers, including Captain Asim Shayea, First Lieutenant Juma Al Maqbali, First Lieutenant Muhammad Al Muhairi, Sergeant Omar Aflatoon, and Corporal Ahmad Salem.
Topics ranged from emergency contact protocols (999 and 901), drug prevention, cybercrime awareness, and traffic safety, to the services offered by Dubai’s Smart Police Stations (SPS).

One highlight was the introduction of the “Victim Support” service a compassionate initiative designed to assist individuals affected by crime, offering both emotional and procedural guidance.
Music, Mascots, and Patrols
Adding a festive touch, the Dubai Police mascot “Mansour” made an appearance, delighting children and families alike.
The Dubai Police Musical Band performed live, and attendees were treated to a showcase of luxury patrol vehicles blending security with spectacle.
The Al Qusais Community Forum stood as a powerful reminder that safety isn’t just about enforcement it’s about connection, education, and shared responsibility.
