HUBBALLI: In a major move to curb the drug menace and ensure public safety, the police department has initiated a rigorous inspection drive across the Twin Cities. Special teams are currently visiting chemical manufacturing units and retail outlets within the Hubballi-Dharwad city limits to verify licenses and stock details.

Focus on Narcotic Precursors

The primary objective of this operation is to prevent the manufacturing of illegal substances and the unauthorized sale of “precursor chemicals”—substances that can be diverted for the production of synthetic drugs. Authorities have been directed to identify any units operating without valid permits or those storing hazardous chemicals beyond the permitted limits.
