Hubballi Chennamma Circle Flyover Gets New Deadline of December 2026, MLA Mahesh Tenginkai Reviews Progress
Hubballi, Karnataka, May 12: The long-pending Chennamma Circle Flyover project in Hubballi has received a fresh completion deadline of December 2026 after local MLA Mahesh Tenginkai visited the construction site and reviewed the ongoing works with officials.
The flyover project, which has been under construction for nearly five years, remains one of the city’s most discussed infrastructure developments. Traffic congestion around Chennamma Circle continues to affect thousands of commuters every day.
We observed growing public reactions online after the concerned department shared photos from the inspection visit on social media. Residents once again raised questions over repeated delays and rising inconvenience.
During the inspection, Tenginkai reportedly directed engineers and contractors to accelerate the pending works and avoid further delays. Officials present at the site briefed the MLA about the current status of construction activities.

“Speed up the remaining work and ensure better coordination between departments,” Tenginkai reportedly told officials during the visit.
A related social media embed shared by the department is expected to appear along with the article. The post included updated construction images and progress visuals from the project site.
Hubballi-Dharwad has witnessed rapid traffic growth over the last decade. According to transport estimates, vehicle registrations in the twin cities have crossed 10 lakh, increasing pressure on key junctions including Chennamma Circle.
Many daily commuters say the unfinished flyover has led to frequent bottlenecks, especially during peak morning and evening hours. Shop owners in nearby areas have also repeatedly highlighted business disruptions caused by prolonged construction work.
Officials reportedly informed the MLA that several structural and utility-related works are still pending. Construction teams are now expected to work in phases to meet the revised December 2026 target.
Our local sources said residents are hopeful the latest review meeting will push the project toward faster execution after years of slow progress.
