Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Hubballi, Smt. On Thursday, Bela Meena carried out a comprehensive inspection across the division, covering track sections, yards, and station preparedness for upcoming projects.
The inspection began with a window trailing inspection of the Hubballi-Hosapete-Swamihalli section. This was followed by a detailed check of the Vyasanakeri, Yashavantanagar and Swamihalli yards, where the DRM reviewed operational efficiency, safety standards and the state of infrastructure.
As part of the visit, Smt. Meena also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the inauguration of the Automatic Block Signalling System (ABSS) at Koppal Railway Station. Officials briefed her on the work completed so far and the steps remaining before the system goes live.
The DRM then moved on to a window trailing inspection from Koppal to Alnavar Station. At Alnavar, she inspected the preparedness for the station’s own upcoming ABSS inauguration, going over the readiness of equipment and staff for the rollout.
Senior officers from various departments of Hubballi division accompanied the DRM through the inspection, providing updates on their respective areas of work.
The inspection is part of the division’s ongoing efforts to strengthen safety standards, improve punctuality and upgrade signalling infrastructure ahead of the ABSS rollout at Koppal and Alnavar stations. The Automatic Block Signalling System is expected to allow trains to run at shorter intervals safely, easing congestion and improving overall line capacity once commissioned.
Railway officials said such inspections are carried out regularly to keep a close watch on ground-level operations and to ensure that upgrade works stay on schedule across the division.
