NWKRTC Bus Service Launched Between Hubballi Airport and Railway Station

NWKRTC hopes to knit together air and rail travel

Hubballi, April 29, 2026 — Passengers landing at Hubballi Airport now have a simpler way to reach the city’s railway station. The North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has rolled out a dedicated bus service linking the two busy transport points, aiming to ease travel and cut down dependence on taxis and auto-rickshaws.

The service was flagged off on Tuesday by NWKRTC Managing Director Smt. Priyanka M. IAS alongside Airport Director Mr. Rupesh Kumar. Officials described the move as part of a broader effort to improve last‑mile connectivity in the region.

“This service will make travel smoother for passengers and strengthen Hubballi’s position as a growing transport hub in North Karnataka,” said Priyanka during the launch ceremony.

For many travelers, the lack of direct public transport between the airport and railway station has long been a pain point. The new buses are expected to run at regular intervals, offering a reliable and affordable option for commuters. Tourists, business visitors, and local residents alike stand to benefit from the convenience.

Hubballi has steadily grown into a key junction in North Karnataka, with rising passenger traffic through both its airport and railway station. By introducing this service, NWKRTC hopes to knit together air and rail travel more seamlessly, while also encouraging the use of public transport over private vehicles.

Officials noted that the initiative reflects a push toward sustainable mobility. With fewer passengers relying on individual taxis, the city could see reduced congestion and lower emissions.
