Thunder Valley Casino Jackpots: Two Guests Win $258,000 in One Day

Thunder Valley Casino Resort

LINCOLN, Calif. — Two Lincoln residents each won six-figure jackpots hours apart on Thursday at Thunder Valley Casino Resort, taking home a combined $258,394.46.

It’s the kind of story that keeps drawing gamblers to this Placer County casino floor. Thunder Valley has built a reputation as one of Northern California’s biggest jackpot machines, and Thursday’s double win adds to a growing list of headline-grabbing payouts over the past year.

The first jackpot landed around 4:48 p.m. A guest playing the Golden Century slot machine, betting $250 at the $2 denomination, hit $145,888.88 during the game’s Hold & Spin bonus round.

Just a few hours later, a second guest struck gold on a completely different machine — a $1 denomination slot — landing a $112,505.58 progressive jackpot on a $25 bet.

“Apparently, one six-figure jackpot just wasn’t enough for one day,” said Dawn Clayton, chief executive officer of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. “Two guests winning more than a quarter-million dollars combined within hours of each other is pretty exciting.”

Both winners are described only as Lincoln residents, with the casino withholding further identifying details per its usual privacy practice for jackpot winners.

Thursday’s payouts aren’t an isolated event. Casino representatives say Thunder Valley has paid out more than 251,000 jackpots over the past year alone — a pace that’s helped cement its self-styled title as the “Jackpot Capital of Northern California.”

Earlier this summer, the casino saw a stretch of especially large wins, including a $604,597 payout on a Monopoly slot machine and, the very next day, a $1,131,400 win on a Face Up Pai Gow hand.

The casino, located in Lincoln within Placer County, houses roughly 3,500 slot machines and 89 table games. Its jackpot streak has become something of a running theme in local coverage, with staff regularly touting fresh six-figure wins in press releases sent to Sacramento-area news outlets.

For now, Thursday’s two winners are the latest addition to that tally. Casino officials say there’s no sign the streak is slowing down, with more big-money moments expected as the year continues.
