Hindu outfits filed a complaint on October 5, 2026, against the organizers of a Navanagar Ganesha immersion and a Maharashtra dancer after a film-style performance during the 21st-day procession. The procession took place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in Navanagar, Hubballi.

Local reports name the host as the Sanatana Maharaja Ganesha Mahamandali of Navanagar, also referred to as the Sanatana Ganesh Mahamandali. The committee brought in dancer Nisha Mumbaikar of Maharashtra to perform live as the idol moved.
Clips of the set spread on social media. Activists said young men in the crowd reacted loudly to the routine and called the show out of place in a religious procession.
Complaint reaches Navanagar police
Dharma Chetana Samiti and other Hindu groups condemned the mandali and asked for a case against the organizers and the dancer.
Hubballi Times reported that a lawyer and members of a Hindu organization handed a representation to the Navanagar police inspector and the Hubballi-Dharwad police commissioner. They alleged inappropriate moves and gestures in front of the procession, said families, senior citizens, and devotees were put off, and called the conduct a breach of public decency.

The representation asks police to examine the incident and register a case against the organizers, the event team, and Mumbaikar. Neither Hubballi Times nor TV9 Kannada reported a case number or a formal arrest. Police have the complaint. Sources did not give a crowd count, a fee for the dancer, or a station reply.
Hubballi is well known for huge crowd gatherings during the Ganesh visarjan procession on the 11th day. Even though the Karnataka Govt. has banned the use of DG and other loudspeakers at 10:PM during the procession, many Ganapti processions use Dholl and other instruments throughout the procession. The huge crowd is always seen until the wee hours of the morning.
