Manipur: Another FIR on rape and murder of 2 young women

In Manipur another FIR on rape and murder of 2 young women

The two women at the car wash were assaulted by a large group of men, along with some women.

In Manipur, on the same day that two women were taken to the streets naked and accused of being terrorists from Manipur, the torture and murder of another two young women from the state’s Kangpokpi district during racist police brutality caused great outrage.

A woman’s family said the two victims, aged 21 and 24, were attacked by terrorists on May 4.

while working at a car wash in Konung Mamang district of Imphal East District, about 40km from the other incident.

A male colleague who witnessed the incident told the Times of India that the women in the group encouraged the men to take the victims into the room and attack them. And dragged into the room, the lights were turned off and their mouths were covered with protective clothing to prevent them from screaming.

After about an hour and a half of terrible suffering, the victim was dragged out and dumped next to a nearby sawmill. Their clothes were torn, their hair was cut and their bodies were covered in blood.

The victim initially did not report due to concerns about the stigma associated with sexual assault. However, the mother of one of the victims mustered up the courage to file a zero FIR with the Saikul Police on May 16, the Indian Express reported.

FIR said that her daughter and another woman were “brutally killed after torture and horrific torture” and were later sent to Porompat Police Station in Imphal East District.

Police complain that they: “could not find their bodies and their current location is unknown,” and the protesters number between 100 and 200.
