IPL 2025 Pause Spurs Gujarat Titans to Ramp Up Training

The Gujarat Titans have resumed their training sessions as the IPL 2025 season remains suspended. With cross-border tensions easing following a recent ceasefire announcement, the team has taken proactive steps toward resuming competition while other franchises await official communication from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Despite the ongoing ambiguity regarding the tournament’s restart, the Titans turned up at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday evening for an extended nets session.

The practice began at around 5:30 PM and lasted over three hours, until approximately 9:00 PM. Core players, including captain Shubman Gill and key pacer Mohammed Siraj, were seen in full concentration.

Notably, overseas stars such as Kagiso Rabada and Sherfane Rutherford also took part, adding to the optimistic atmosphere around the team’s future in the tournament.

“They were to disperse today, but with the announcement of the ceasefire and talk of an early resumption happening, they decided to stay on in Ahmedabad,” said a Gujarat Cricket Association official.

Moreover, the Titans currently top the IPL 2025 standings with 16 points from 11 matches and are widely regarded as strong contenders for a playoff berth.

With their eyes set on finishing in the top two, the team is determined to leverage every practice session to build on their already impressive performances.

In contrast, some teams have disbanded or returned to their respective homes while remaining uncertain about the future schedule, further emphasizing the Titans’ proactive stance.
