We watched the India opener reach three figures and break Rohit Sharma’s 35-ball Indian record from Indore in 2017. The knock is also the fastest T20I hundred by a batter from a full-member nation, beating Finn Allen’s 33-ball ton.

Arshdeep Singh had taken 3 for 19 in that opener. His absence for Thakur changes the new-ball look. Sooryavanshi’s omission keeps the top order with Samson and Abhishek as the designated blast pair.
