Google threw down the gauntlet at its annual I/O developers conference in Mountain View, California, debuting a massive array of autonomous AI agents and fast reasoning models to challenge OpenAI and Anthropic aggressively.
CEO Sundar Pichai showcased the brand-new Gemini 3.5 Flash model on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, pushing deep into consumer web browsers to radically transform how billions of internet users interact with online search.
“Now we are super focused on bringing the power of agents to consumers so that it works for everyone,” Pichai stated during his highly anticipated keynote address. The tech titan hopes these rapid rollouts claw back the critical enterprise and coding market share currently dominated by its nimble rivals.
Our sources confirmed that the new default engine running inside Google’s global app and Search “AI Mode” responds at a blistering pace. Company benchmarks show Gemini 3.5 Flash clocks in at four times faster than other frontier models on the market today.
We saw an impressive live demonstration where the software scored a massive 76.2% on the grueling Terminal-Bench 2.1 coding test. Tech experts expect this sheer speed to dramatically lower operational computing costs for developers worldwide.
Welcome to Gemini 3.5 Flash, our most powerful model to date. It pushes the frontier of intelligence, speed, and cost putting 3.5 Flash in a class of its own.

The real showstopper came when the company unveiled Gemini Spark, a cloud-based personal assistant that stays active 24/7.
This agent scours the web unsupervised to execute complex multi-step tasks like tracking flight changes, managing daily calendars, or scanning credit card statements for hidden fees. Because Spark operates entirely on cloud-based virtual machines, it continues running smoothly even when a user locks their phone or shuts down their computer.
Google executives noted that the tool integrates deeply with Workspace apps like Gmail and Docs to synthesize chaotic information effortlessly.
Google Gemini tweeted about the new development and wrote, “Gemini 3.5 Flash is here and it’s our best model yet for getting things done quickly and efficiently. Whether you need help with everyday tasks or multi-step creative projects, Gemini 3.5 Flash navigates real-world complexity to help you take action.”

Google DeepMind chief executive Demis Hassabis also took the stage to announce Gemini Omni, a cutting-edge world model designed to mix text, audio, and video inputs seamlessly.
The platform allows consumers to create or edit high-fidelity video files using standard conversational commands. According to a Mashable Report, the premium AI Ultra subscription plan will cost $100 per month to give power users enhanced access to these advanced agentic workflows.
