On July 3, 2026, Kotyal village in Tikota taluk witnessed the grand inauguration of a brand-new government school building. Built under the CSR grant of Kempegowda International Airport Foundation, the ₹3.25 crore project has created a 7,000 sq. ft. modern campus with advanced facilities.

The goal: bring international-quality education to rural children without forcing them to travel outside their village.

We saw the excitement firsthand as students walked into spacious classrooms designed for grades 1 through 10. Our sources confirmed that an additional 800 sq. ft. of the old building was renovated, making the entire campus a blend of tradition and modernity. The school now boasts STEM labs, ‘Nali-Kali’ activity rooms, and 135 brand-new furniture units to support interactive learning.

Dr. Harimurari, MD & CEO of Bangalore International Airport Ltd, said, “Education is the strongest investment we can make for rural India.”

CFO Bhaskar Anandarao added that the project reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility. Karnataka Minister MB Patil tweeted about the event, and a social embed is inserted here to highlight his message.

We talked to villagers who donated land, including Kamala Murugesh Nirani and Anandarao Kulkarni. They expressed joy that children will no longer need to travel to Tikota for quality schooling.

Ten modern toilets, a hygienic kitchen, and a spacious dining hall have been built to ensure comfort and dignity for every student.
