Lancaster University Bengaluru Campus Set for Launch
Patil confirmed Lancaster University holds a 5-star global rating. Our sources close to the minister’s office said the Bengaluru campus will run degree programs in Business, Management, and Computing.
Curriculum quality stays consistent with the UK campus. Students get “world-class education closer to home,” Patil said, while pointing to stronger industry-academia ties as a direct benefit.
KWIN City Adds a Second Campus Location
Plans also include a Lancaster University campus at KWIN City, expected in the “coming days,” per Patil’s statement. KWIN City aims to become a global hub for knowledge, innovation, and talent.
Bringing in institutions like Lancaster strengthens that ambition further. We saw three major names attend the discussion alongside Stevenson: Paul Lovegrove, CEO of Navitas’s European University Partnerships; Vikas Panjwani, Head of Global Strategy; and Janaka Pushpanathan, Director for South India at the British Council.
Talent retention remains a key goal behind the push. Karnataka has courted several foreign universities in recent years, aiming to cut student outflow for overseas degrees.
Numbers back the urgency too. India sends over 1.3 million students abroad annually for higher education, according to Ministry of External Affairs estimates, a trend state officials hope campuses like Lancaster’s can help slow.
