Sankalpa Performing Arts and Research Centre, Hubballi, staged Sankalpa Kalotsava–2026 on September 6, 2026, at Adiranga Theatre, Lohia Nagar. We saw Vidhushi Vanita Mahale inaugurate the festival. Our sources said Guru Dr. Prakash Malligwad presided.
Chief guests were Kumar Bekkeri, Assistant Director, Department of Kannada and Culture, and folk artist Prakash Kambali. Praveen Badiger and Nagendra Bannigidad also sat on the dais and backed the show.
Satish Murur compered the evening. Santosh Mahale handled makeup for the artists. Students and guest performers then took the Adiranga stage.
The bill mixed Bharatanatyam with Karnataka folk forms. Founder-director Sahana Bannigidad called the night a bid to keep tradition alive through dance. Parents, well-wishers, and local artists filled the hall.
Hubballi Dance Festival Fills Adiranga Theatre
Lohia Nagar’s Adiranga Theatre is a regular stop for school and sabha programmes. Sankalpa used the same roof for a full cultural card on September 6. The Kannada and Culture department’s local office marked the event by sending Bekkeri.
Malligwad and Mahale gave the formal start as gurus of the house. Kambali’s presence tied the folk items to a known Hubballi name. We saw the vote of thanks name every guest, artist, student, and parent who helped close the night.
Sankalpa Performing Arts and Research Centre is based in Hubballi. Kalotsava–2026 stays on the school’s calendar as its main public showcase this season. More class recitals are expected after the festival stage comes down.
