Kannada actress Rachita Ram

Kannada actress Rachita Ram faced an uncomfortable incident during a Dasara programme at the Junior College grounds in Tumakuru on Tuesday. She was walking the ramp with Deputy Commissioner Shubha Kalyan and Zilla Panchayat CEO Ashwija when a man suddenly rushed towards her from the crowd.

The man put his hand on her shoulder and tried to take a selfie. While doing so, he pulled her. Police on the spot immediately stepped in and took the man away. The moment created some confusion on the stage, but order was restored quickly.

Rachita Ram was present at the event as a special guest. A large number of people had gathered for the Dasara celebrations. District officials were also walking the ramp at the time.

The incident has sparked discussion about women’s safety at public events. Fans often get excited when they see celebrities, but some cross the line while trying to take photos. Similar issues have come up earlier when fans tried to get too close without permission. Watch how quickly the police reacted in the video.

Police have not yet given an official statement about the man who was detained. Their quick action stopped the situation from getting worse. Organisers may also look at security arrangements more carefully for future programmes.

Rachita Ram has not spoken about the incident so far. She continues to work in Kannada films and attends public events across the state. The episode has again raised the point that better crowd control is needed at celebrity programmes.

The rest of the Dasara event in Tumakuru went ahead as planned after the brief disruption.
