Local residents expressed optimism. “We’ve waited years for a safe passage here,” said one commuter we talked to. The project is expected to reduce accidents and provide smoother pedestrian movement.

According to railway engineers, construction will begin immediately, with completion targeted within the next 18 months. The subway will include modern lighting, CCTV surveillance, and ramps for accessibility.

For Tumakuru, the foundation stone marks more than just a new structure. It signals a step toward safer, smarter urban transport, with leaders and citizens united in support of progress.
