Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman react to ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’s’ Massive Record-Breaking Opening Weekend Box Office
Marvel Studio’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” creates history as the film earned an estimated $211 million at the domestic box office over the weekend, making it the biggest R-rated opening of all time, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This is also the sixth-biggest opening of all time for any film.
Actors React
Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine in the film, took to Instagram to share his reaction to the film raking in huge numbers. The actor posted a picture on his social media where he can be seen in his superhero costume lying down and staring at a picture frame that reads “#1 MOVIE IN THE WORLD.”

“Wolverine and Deadpool is the #1 movie in the world. Thank you ALL!,” he wrote in the caption.
His co-star Ryan Reynolds, who played Deadpool, shared a similar picture on his Instagram. Reynolds, 47, can be seen in his superhero costume staring at an edited picture frame which shows the same photograph that Jackman had posted.

Record-breaking success
The Marvel film is the biggest opening ever for the stars Ryan Reynolds, Levy, and Hugh Jackman, as well as the fourth-biggest superhero debut. It is also the most successful July debut since “Spider-Man: No Way Home” was released in December 2021 and the film grossed $260.1 million domestically.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” is Disney’s first R-rated film, and it marks a return to form for the Kevin Feige-led Marvel after various misses at the box office.

The film was released on 26 July 2024 as part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has garnered strong reviews with a score of 8.2 on IMDb and a 79 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
