The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) clarified that the results for the Class 10 and 12 exams, conducted earlier this year, will not be announced on May 2 as some reports had claimed. The announcement has created a buzz among students, parents, and educators who have been anxiously waiting for their results.

CBSE Class 10 and 12 Results Not Scheduled for May 2, Official Clarifies

Despite widespread speculation, senior CBSE officials confirmed to Financial Express Online that no official date has been set for the results. “We want to clear the air—there are no plans to release the results on May 2. Any reports suggesting this are incorrect,” stated a CBSE spokesperson. This official clarification aims to curb misinformation and keep students informed about the ongoing process.

Over 42 Lakh Students Appeared for CBSE Exams in 2025

This year’s exams saw an unprecedented participation, with more than 42.3 lakh students taking the tests across the country. Of these, approximately 22 lakh students appeared for the Class 10 exams, while the remaining 20.3 lakh sat for Class 12. The exams were held over a span of 49 days, from February 15 to April 4, and were conducted smoothly despite logistical challenges.

Progress of the Evaluation Process and Expected Timelines

While the evaluation process is currently ongoing, CBSE officials have assured that the results are being prepared with utmost accuracy. “The counting and verification stages are well underway, and we are committed to delivering results as swiftly as possible,” a senior official explained. Although an official date has not been announced, sources suggest the results could be declared by the third week of May.

Students and Parents Urged to Stay Updated

Given the uncertainty, students and their families are advised to remain vigilant and regularly check official CBSE channels. “Our focus is on transparent communication. Once we complete the evaluation, we will announce the date officially,” the official added. Meanwhile, many students expressed their hope that the delay does not affect their plans for higher education or career decisions.

Ensuring Fairness and Transparency in Result Declaration

The delay, while disappointing for some, underscores the importance of accuracy and fairness in the evaluation process. CBSE has emphasized that their priority is to ensure every student’s result is rightfully earned. “We understand the importance of these results in shaping students’ futures, and we are working diligently to finalize them without compromising standards,” the official assured.
