In a decisive military operation, India launched Operation Sindoor early Wednesday morning, targeting nine high-value terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Among the key locations struck was the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) headquarters in Muridke, a known hub for terror activities.

India’s Retaliatory Strikes Following Pahalgam Attack

The operation was carried out in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists and injured 17 others. Indian forces executed precision missile strikes from within Indian territory, ensuring no collateral damage while dismantling terror infrastructure.

Key Targets and Strategic Execution

Indian intelligence identified nine terror hubs, including the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Bahawalpur and multiple training camps in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Sialkot. The strikes were conducted using high-precision guided munitions, with coordinated efforts from the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.

Pakistan’s Response and Global Reactions

Pakistan acknowledged the strikes, confirming that multiple mosques linked to terror groups were hit, resulting in eight casualties. Meanwhile, global leaders, including US President Donald Trump and China’s foreign ministry, have urged both nations to exercise restraint.

Speaking on the matter, a senior Indian defense official stated, “India has demonstrated its commitment to eliminating terror threats. We will continue to safeguard our citizens and ensure national security.”

Six killed, over 30 injured in Pak shelling

Following Operation Sindoor, Pakistan initiated heavy firing and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. The intense cross-border attack resulted in the tragic loss of six civilian lives, while over 30 others sustained injuries.

The escalation came shortly after India conducted precision strikes on multiple terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Officials reported that among those killed was a woman whose home in Mankote, Poonch district, was struck by a mortar shell during intense cross-border shelling. Her 13-year-old daughter sustained injuries in the attack, adding to the rising civilian toll in the conflict.
