Why is this fair so important?

An 11-year gap between fairs made this year’s event a massive milestone for the locals. Village fairs in Karnataka are the heartbeat of rural culture and social bonding. The temple trust members worked for weeks to manage the thousands of pilgrims arriving from nearby districts. Traditional music and grand processions filled the air from dawn until late at night.

Who joined the Minister?

Laxmi Hebbalkar was accompanied by several prominent figures during the temple visit. MLC Channaraj Hattiholi participated in the rituals alongside village elders and temple committee members. They spent hours interacting with the local devotees who had gathered for a glimpse of the deity. The Minister praised the temple trust for organizing such a disciplined yet grand event for the public.

Is there a “conspiracy” to silence voters?

Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar launched a stinging attack on the election authorities today over voter list errors. She claims over 23,000 voters in her own Belagavi Rural segment are at risk of being deleted. Discrepancies in the mapping work have triggered a major political row. The Minister called it a “conspiracy” to silence voters. Deeply concerning.

During a press conference at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha, Hebbalkar pointed out that mapping in Belagavi North hasn’t even hit 65 percent. According to Udayavani, she alleged that newly married women are being marked as ‘absconding’ on the lists. This error effectively removes them from the voting process. She demanded an immediate fix before the upcoming polls. April 28, 2026.
