
Dharwad: The SDM College of Engineering and Technology (SDMCET) in Dharwad has become the epicenter of innovation and youthful energy with the launch of the SRISHTI Innovation Exchange 2026.
The three-day mega technical festival was inaugurated in the presence of prominent leaders, academicians, and student representatives, marking the beginning of a vibrant celebration of creativity and problem-solving.
The festival is designed to provide a comprehensive platform for students through a hackathon, ideathon, and a large-scale exhibition. These events encourage participants to present innovative solutions to pressing modern challenges, with a strong emphasis on sustainable development.
Thousands of students from across Karnataka and beyond have joined, reflecting the growing enthusiasm among youth to contribute meaningfully to India’s technological progress.
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, who shared highlights of the event, emphasized that the initiative resonates with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Start-Up India.
He praised the energy and innovation demonstrated by young engineers, noting that their contributions will be instrumental in building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
Joshi added that such platforms not only foster technical excellence but also instill confidence in students to take on leadership roles in shaping the nation’s future.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including MLA Arvind Bellad, ABVP National Organizing Secretary Ashish Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University Dr. Vidyashankar S, SDME Society Secretary Jeevandhar Kumar, SDMCET Principal Dr. Ramesh L. Chakrasali, ABVP Karnataka South State President Dr. Ravi Mandya, State Secretary Gopal Rangaswamy, and student leader Lekhana, alongside faculty members and students.
