Dharwad, June 12 — A special welfare meeting for civic workers was held at the District Panchayat Hall in Dharwad under the joint initiative of the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, and the Department of Social Welfare.
The event, led by Karnataka State Safai Karmachari Commission Chairman P. Raghu, focused on direct dialogue and progress review with sanitation and civic workers.
‘Swades’ Spirit in Action
We saw hundreds of workers gathered to voice their concerns. Officials listened carefully, noting issues like housing, health benefits, and timely wage distribution.
Sources confirmed that nearly 250 civic workers attended the session, making it one of the largest gatherings in recent months.
‘Lagaan’ of Labor Rights
On stage, HDMC Commissioner Rudresh Ghali and senior district officers engaged in detailed discussions. They promised to strengthen welfare schemes and ensure effective implementation.
Our sources reported that over 40 grievances were recorded during the meeting, ranging from safety gear shortages to pension delays.
‘Kantara’ of Community Voices
Workers openly shared their challenges, while officials assured immediate follow-up. The dialogue created a bridge between policy and practice.
According to HDMC’s official tweet, the meeting was a success and marked a step toward inclusive governance.
‘RRR’ – Resolve, Reform, Relief
The program emphasized three goals: resolve existing issues, reform welfare delivery, and provide relief to workers. Numbers matter here — 12 welfare schemes were reviewed, and 5 new initiatives were proposed. The atmosphere reflected urgency and commitment.
Social media embeds related to the event will be included, amplifying the voices of workers and officials. The meeting highlighted that civic workers are not just service providers but the backbone of urban cleanliness and dignity.
