Moodubidire: The Chief Minister’s office took note of a newspaper report about vehicles parked in a haphazard way at the Moodubidire bus station in Dakshina Kannada district. The parking was causing problems for passengers.
Following directions from the secretariat, the Moodubidire municipality and the police department carried out a joint operation. Inside the bus station, officials marked areas for buses to stop properly. Police removed two-wheelers that had been parked without permission and in violation of rules.
Separate parking arrangements have been made for different users. Visitors to the commercial complex can now park on the right side of the bus station. Vehicles that need to be parked for the whole day have been given space at the administrative building ground.

To improve traffic movement, authorities have put up signboards at 10 places. Convex mirrors have also been installed at four turns. These steps are meant to help drivers and reduce confusion near the bus station.
The action comes after complaints that random parking was making it difficult for bus passengers to move around the station. Officials hope the new markings and parking zones will keep the area more orderly for daily travellers.
