Apple HomeView Brings $299 Smart Hub With Face Recognition

Apple HomeView $299 Smart Home Hub Ships November 13

Apple will start selling its new HomeView smart home hub on November 13, 2026. The device costs $299 and comes with a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, a speaker, and Siri AI. Pre-orders opened in mid-October in the United States and several other countries. It is not available in the European Union.

“Apple HomeView is designed to be shared by everyone in the home yet feel completely personal to each user,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

How the screen works for different people

HomeView can recognize up to six people by their faces. When it sees a registered user, the screen switches to that person’s home screen, apps, and widgets. Personal content from Messages, Calendar, or Reminders only appears if the person’s iPhone or iPad is nearby on the same Wi-Fi and has been unlocked recently.

The tabletop model sits on a rounded speaker base and can tilt. There is also a wall-mounted version that costs the same $299. Extra mounts for the wall model start at about $60 and are sold separately. Colors for the tabletop unit include silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray.

What you can do with it

You can play music, make FaceTime calls, view photos, and control lights, locks, thermostats, and cameras. A Home Camera view can show up to nine camera feeds at once. The device also notices smoke and carbon monoxide alarm sounds and can send an alert, though Apple says not to rely on it in real emergencies.

Siri AI on HomeView can answer general questions and help with music even if you do not have a newer iPhone. With a compatible phone nearby, it can use personal context from your messages and calendar.

Where it is sold

HomeView is launching in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Singapore, and South Africa. Apple says Siri AI is not yet available in the EU, so the product is not being sold there for now. The company says it is working with European regulators on a path forward.

The $299 price matches many other smart displays on the market. Buyers who already use Apple devices will get tighter integration than competing hubs from Amazon or Google.
