Afghanistan vs Bangladesh one-off Test live streaming from Zayed Cricket Stadium,

Afghanistan will host Bangladesh in a one-off Test at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi from Friday, October 9, to Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The match starts at 10:00 am local time, which is 11:30 am IST and 7:00 am in the UK.

This is the third Test between the sides. They split the first two, in 2019 and 2023. Bangladesh won the Dhaka Test in 2023 by 546 runs, with Najmul Hossain Shanto scoring a hundred in each innings. Bangladesh came in after a Test win in Darwin.

Afghanistan lost heavily to India in Mullanpur in June. Rahmat Shah leads Afghanistan in a Test for the first time, in place of Hashmatullah Shahidi.

Players news

Bangladesh named a 15-man squad on September 19, with Najmul Hossain Shanto still captain. Towhid Hridoy is back after an unbeaten 350 for Bangladesh A against South Africa A in Potchefstroom. Taskin Ahmed is rested.

Chief selector Habibul Bashar said the board wants him fresh for the West Indies Tests in the World Test Championship. Nahid Rana is out because he is available only from October 10, a day after this Test starts.

Afghanistan have dropped left-arm spinners Sharafuddin Ashraf and Nangeyalia Kharote, and kept wrist spinners Qais Ahmad and Khalil Gurbaz. Zia-ur-Rehman returns after a year. Rahmat Shah captains a Test for the first time, in place of Hashmatullah Shahidi.

Pitch conditions

Shanto, speaking on Thursday, called the strip good and a little slow, and said it looks like a batting wicket. “We know that we’re going to have to come up against several spinners,” he said. He also said the heat is a factor, and that the side will not use the weather as an excuse.

ESPNcricinfo said the temperature could climb toward 40 degrees, and recalled the ground’s slow reputation. Afghanistan beat Zimbabwe here by six wickets in 2021. This is Bangladesh’s first Test at a neutral venue, and their first in the UAE. The match is not part of the World Test Championship.
