US Air Force Thunderbirds perform during NASA MAX POWER event at Kennedy Space Center in Florida

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds have arrived on Florida’s Space Coast ahead of NASA’s MAX POWER aerospace event at the Kennedy Space Center. The three-day program runs from November 6 to November 8 and combines air shows, space technology exhibits, astronaut appearances, and educational activities for visitors.

The Thunderbirds are scheduled to perform on November 7 and 8 at the Shuttle Landing Facility, one of the key venues for the event. NASA says MAX POWER is designed to celebrate American achievements in aerospace while highlighting future innovations in aviation and space exploration.

According to NASA, the weekend program will also feature NASA speakers, interactive exhibits, behind-the-scenes experiences, and technology demonstrations. The air show lineup includes the Thunderbirds, the NASA Freedom 250 aerial team, the U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet Demo Team, and a C-17 Globemaster III demonstration.

Aerospace and Space Exploration in One Event

MAX POWER will take place across multiple locations at and around Kennedy Space Center. Visitors can explore exhibitions focused on current and future space missions, meet astronauts, and attend presentations by NASA experts.

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex says the event is intended to showcase the people, technologies, missions, and partnerships shaping the future of space exploration. Activities include STEM demonstrations, technology displays, expert panels, and a space-themed parade.

Thunderbirds Close Out the Season

The appearance is one of the Thunderbirds’ final performances of the 2026 air show season. The elite demonstration squadron of the U.S. Air Force is known for precision flying routines that highlight the capabilities of the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

Other featured attractions include aerospace industry exhibits, NASA mission displays, and presentations covering lunar exploration, advanced aircraft technologies, and future research programs.

NASA’s schedule lists air show performances from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both weekend days. The agency expects the event to bring together aviation enthusiasts, space industry professionals, students, and families at one of the country’s most significant spaceflight centers.
