Dharwad BJP MLA Arvind Bellad raised strong concerns about the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) scandal during a public interaction. He said, “There is a huge problem in Karnataka regarding examinations.
Everybody knows about the issues in KPSC. Hours of discussion have taken place on the floor of the Assembly regarding the KPSC scandal.”
Bellad directly accused the system of failing young aspirants. He pointed to repeated paper leaks and alleged that selections were happening through unfair means.
Our sources confirmed that over 2 lakh candidates appeared for KPSC exams last year, yet many complained about irregularities.
Bellad urged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to raise his voice against these issues. “Rahul Gandhi should look into these matters and speak up,” he said.
According to reports, at least 3 major exam papers were leaked in the past five years, affecting thousands of students. The scandal has shaken public trust in recruitment exams.

We talked to students outside Dharwad library who expressed frustration. One candidate said, “We prepare for years, but leaks destroy our future.”

The Assembly has debated the issue for more than 10 hours across sessions. Despite repeated discussions, no concrete solution has been implemented.
Bellad’s remarks have now reignited the debate, putting pressure on both ruling and opposition leaders.
Statistics show that Karnataka has nearly 12 lakh unemployed youth registered with employment exchanges. Many of them depend on KPSC exams for government jobs. Allegations of corruption and leaks have only deepened their anxiety.
