Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat in the first T20I against Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 9, 2026. The match is the opener of a three-game series. All three are at Rawalpindi, at 6:00 pm local time, with the next two on October 11 and October 13.

Pakistan handed T20I caps to Razaullah and Mohammad Imran Randhawa. Both made their Test debuts against England last month. Razaullah took four wickets in the first innings of that Oval Test and scored 81 in the second. Imran, a domestic regular, took two wickets there and has about 70 domestic T20s behind him. Dawn reported both debuts. Fakhar Zaman is back in the XI.

This is Farhan’s first series as full-time T20 captain after the Asian Games, where Pakistan took silver and lost the final to India.

After this series, England join Pakistan and Sri Lanka for an ODI tri-series in Rawalpindi and Lahore from October 18 to October 31.

Sri Lanka then has a three-day practice match in Islamabad from November 4 to November 6 before a two-Test series against Pakistan.
